Is Fyre Festival 2 Happening?

In 2017, the original Fyre Festival became synonymous with disaster, leaving attendees stranded without promised luxury accommodations or performances. 

Now, in 2025, founder Billy McFarland is attempting a comeback with Fyre Festival 2, scheduled for May 30 to June 2 in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. 

Despite McFarland’s assertions of secured permits and planning, local authorities have publicly denied any official involvement or authorization for the event.

Tickets for Fyre Festival 2 are being sold at prices ranging from $1,400 to $1.1 million, with premium packages offering extravagant perks. 

However, no official lineup has been announced, and skepticism remains high due to the lack of confirmed artists and the event’s troubled history.​

McFarland, who served prison time for fraud related to the original festival, claims that Fyre Festival 2 is a step toward redemption and repaying debts. 

Yet, former associates and industry insiders have expressed concerns, warning potential attendees of possible issues and advising caution .​

As the proposed dates approach, the legitimacy and feasibility of Fyre Festival 2 continue to be questioned, with many watching closely to see whether history will repeat itself or if McFarland can deliver on his promises this time.
